ACU British Flat Track Championship: the 2025 Calendar

A major development in the 2025 racing season is the birth of the ACU British Flat Track Championship, established under the umbrella of the Auto-Cycle Union, the national motorcycle federation in Great Britain. This new series sets itself apart from the well-known DTRA Flat Track Nationals, active since 2013 and considered the UK’s benchmark series until 2024, privately run by the Dirt Track Riders Association (hence the acronym DTRA).

The ACU British Flat Track aims to establish itself as a new reference point, backed by national federation support, creating a dual structure that we hope will elevate the level of the sport.

The 2025 British Flat Track Championship calendar includes five rounds held across four different tracks. The season opens on Sunday, March 30th in Scunthorpe, followed by King’s Lynn on May 4th (a venue that hosted the 2024 FIM Flat Track World Championship), then moves to Workington on June 28–29 for a double round, and ends with the final in Leicester on Saturday, August 16th.

Interestingly, the only overlapping venue with the DTRA series is Workington; all other tracks are different. It’s also worth noting that, despite the “competition” between the two championships, schedule clashes have been avoided, allowing riders to take part in both series. In fact, combining ACU British Flat Track and DTRA Flat Track Nationals, the UK flat track scene has never been more alive, boasting 13 races across 7 different tracks.
