On the evening of Saturday, July 12, the third round of the 2025 FIM Flat Track World Championship took place under the floodlights at the Donji Kraljevec speedway stadium in Croatia. A night race full of drama and breath-holding moments—featuring intense battles and, unfortunately, some spectacular crashes.
Let’s get to the Flat Track World Championship results: after many twists and turns, Ervin Krajčovič triumphed once again, repeating his victory from the opening round in Terenzano. The Czech rider skillfully stayed out of trouble all night, unlike several podium contenders who got caught up in incidents. Apart from some difficulties in his first heat, Krajčovič (KTM) consistently crossed the line first—even in the final, where he clearly outpaced an excellent Daniele Tonelli (TM) and a fast-starting but ultimately third-placed Ondřej Svědík (KTM).
Expectations were high for Sammy Halbert (Husqvarna-OMT Squadra Corse) to make up ground in the standings, but the American’s night turned out to be chaotic. He finished fifth—still a solid result given the circumstances. Though unable to win any of his heats, Halbert qualified for the Final from the front row. A couple of laps in, however, he crashed heavily on the main straight along with Tim Neave (GASGAS-VFR), with whom he was fighting for top positions.

There were tense moments before cameras showed both riders back on their feet. The British rider, who had entered the night with the joint-highest score alongside Krajčovič, was unable to restart—wasting what could have been a golden opportunity. Halbert remounted on a second bike, a Beta instead of his usual Husqvarna, but had to start from last. He mounted a strong comeback to finish fifth, just behind Kevin Corradetti.
Behind Halbert in the Croatian round of the FIM Flat Track World Championship came Gerard Bailo, Jack Bell, Markus Jell, and Menno Van Meer—who all made the Top 10 after coming through the Last Chance. Then came Vít Janoušek and Michele Guerra.
It was a disappointing night for the other Neave twin, Tom, racing as a high-profile wild card on Zaeta. He started strong with a second place in Heat 3, but in the next race he crashed spectacularly after hitting Stefano Casiraghi’s fallen bike. He was taken out by ambulance, and that ended his race. Tom later reassured fans via Instagram.
In the 2025 FIM Flat Track World Championship standings, Ervin Krajčovič extends his lead over fellow Czech rider Ondřej Svědík. Daniele Tonelli regains third place ahead of Halbert. For the American, the title defense is now at risk, with a 12-point gap and only three rounds left—while his rivals show impressive consistency. Next round in Schessel, Germany, August 23rd, on a 1.000 metres-long oval.
