2026 FIM Flat Track World Championship Calendar revealed

Just a few hours ago, the calendar for the 2026 FIM Flat Track World Championship was published. The good news is that it’s growing: from the 6 rounds held in 2025, it expands to 10, with two of them even outside Europe.

The season will kick off in early May in the Netherlands, at Roden – a new entry in the Flat Track World Championship circus. Then it’s on to Terenzano, Italy, followed by another debut venue in late June: Haunstetten in Germany. Croatia comes next in early July, and in August the championship returns to the 1,000-meter circuit in Scheessel, Germany. King’s Lynn makes a welcome return after hosting a round in 2024, then we move to Eastern Europe: Vasad in Hungary and Pardubice in the Czech Republic.

The grand finale is scheduled in Argentina, with a double header on October 24–25, at least in theory. The extra-European trip raises some doubts, especially considering it’s South America – which, unless geography has changed, is on the other side of the world. Who will actually be able to afford going there? And how? Using rented bikes?

It is a World Championship, so trying to bring it around the world is absolutely fair – no argument there. But there are no real factory teams, except for Zaeta (and that’s a special case), and there’s no big sponsor money backing the teams. Will the Federation cover travel expenses? If so, that would be brilliant.

Keep in mind that most of the riders aren’t professionals – they’re people who go back to work on Monday after the race. Racing in Argentina is a huge commitment, in every possible sense. Perhaps, given the current state of flat track in Europe, it’s premature. After all, the first draft of the 2025 calendar had an Argentinian round too, and it was promptly cancelled.

Let’s hope we’re wrong – that would be great.
