The day after Round 2 of the FIM Flat Track, held in Meissen, Germany, part of the Flat Track World Championship circus moved to nearby Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland—just across the border—for an international friendly event at the majestic GBS Edward Jancarz Stadium, which will host Round 6 of the SpeedwayGP next weekend.
Almost all the top riders of the World Championship lined up for the Gorzów Flat Track Challenge, drawn by the exceptional venue and the prize money, which guaranteed a minimum payout even to the last-place finisher. Alongside them were several local riders from Poland and the Czech Republic, plus Italian rider Daniele Tuzi, competing under the colors of Fabrizio Vesprini’s VFR team.
Just hours after his win in Meissen, reigning Flat Track World Champion Sammy Halbert of the USA climbed to the top step of the podium once again—but this time, he had to fight hard to hold off a very sharp Ondrej Svědík. The Czech rider confirmed the impressive speed he had already shown in the German round of the FIM Flat Track and only gave in to Halbert on the final lap. The podium was a carbon copy of Meissen, with Ervin Krajčovič finishing third again, though further back due to a mistake after leading the early laps.

The Italian lineup included Daniele Tonelli (TM), Giacomo Bossetti (GASGAS), Michele Guerra (Husqvarna), Daniele Tuzi (GASGAS), and Stefano Casiraghi (Beta). The best performer—unsurprisingly—was Tuscan rider Tonelli, who finished fifth, right behind Tim Neave. Giacomo Bossetti came ninth, while Michele Guerra took tenth, reaching the Final after winning the Last Chance race. Tuzi and Casiraghi did not qualify and finished 15th and 17th, respectively.
The event was held under the patronage of the Mayor of Gorzów Wielkopolski, Jacek Wójcicki, and Marcin Krupnik, a member of the Polish Council for Solar Protection. The event was sponsored by Texom, Motul, Louis, Browar Witnica, and elero. Timekeeping was provided by BlackBurst TV.
