Italian Flat Track Championship: Corradetti and Tonelli win in Boves. Results and standings

On the warm weekend of July 26–27, rounds 3 and 4 of the 2025 Italian Flat Track Championship were held on the small oval in Boves (Cuneo), Piedmont, following the opening round in Lonigo and round 2 in Ravenna.

After two consecutive wins by Tuscan rider Daniele Tonelli, Saturday at the Bisalta Motor Park saw a new name take the top spot: the strong rider from the Marche region, Kevin Corradetti, aboard the Yamaha of Team Di Traverso, led by Marco Belli. It was actually a great 1-2 finish for the team from Varese, with Santiago Arangio, the Argentine rider based in Italy to race the full Flat Track World Championship, finishing second.

Corradetti’s day didn’t start off well — only 17 points scored in the four heats, not even enough to secure a front-row start in the Final. The Final itself was chaotic, with three restarts due to first-turn crashes — including one involving Tonelli — ultimately giving Corradetti the chance to come out on top.

Third place went to Giacomo Bossetti (GASGAS-VFR), who made a strong comeback despite being involved in both first-turn incidents. Daniele Tuzi (GASGAS-VFR) finished fourth, while Tonelli ended up only fifth, struggling after contact with Bossetti during the last restart.

Saturday’s race was marked by poor track conditions, with dry and very dusty surfaces during the heats — a significant safety concern due to limited visibility for riders outside the lead positions. A difficult situation to accept, especially considering the high level of competitiveness in the Italian Flat Track Championship.

Sunday went much better, with timely track grooming and watering — especially important due to the larger number of heats, since the third round of the Dust&Fun Trophy was also on the schedule.

In round 4 of the Italian Championship, Daniele Tonelli (TM) returned to form, claiming his third win out of four races and the full 25 points. It was a flawless day for the Tuscan rider, with a perfect score in the heats and a Final led from start to finish with authority.

Kevin Corradetti tried to repeat Saturday’s success, staying right on Tonelli’s tail throughout the Final, but never finding a chance to launch a real attack. Still, a solid second place for the Yamaha rider. Third place again for Bossetti, while Michele Guerra took fourth despite a nasty crash in the heats, and his bonus son Christian Poli came in fifth. Santiago Arangio crashed out and finished only eighth.

The Italian Flat Track Championship standings still have Daniele Tonelli on top with 92 points, now 10 points ahead of Corradetti, who moves from third to second, overtaking Bossetti by a single point. Tuzi sits fourth with 59 points, and Guerra is fifth with 58. The next round is scheduled for Terenzano (UD), on September 27–28.
